Creck Sporting played out a 1-1 draw against Songwe Border United in a match that saw both teams go all out in attack at Karonga Stadium on Thursday afternoon.


The home struck early, setting the tone for a competitive contest, a goal that came from a deflection within the defenders.


Songwe Border United took the lead just six minutes into the match and held onto their advantage throughout the first half. Their early goal forced Creck to chase the game, testing their resilience and defensive organization.


Miracle Gabeya was later substituted following a defensive blunder, with Hardy Ng’andu taking his place.


Patrick Macheso’s first-half effort was controversially denied after the assistant referee Fiskani Kawonga ruled it offside, disallowing what looked like a clear goal.


In an effort to increase attacking options, coach Eliya Kananji introduced Ademola Ajibola and George Chaomba for Jackson and Chilembwe. However, the changes failed to produce the desired result.


Despite the team’s late push and attacking intent in the final minutes, the match ended in a stalemate.
Creck showed determination in the second half, and the persistence paid off in the 72nd minute.


Hassan Hussein found the back of the net to level the score, much to the delight out with the remaining time.The remainder of the match was an intense battle, with both sides creating several chances.


Despite numerous attacks and near misses, neither team could find a winning goal, and the spoils were shared.


The 1-1 result reflects a hard-fought contest, with Creck Sporting showing character to come from behind.


Creck Sporting remains in 10th position on the TNM Super League table with 27 points from 23 games.


The team travelled to the Northern Region with a mission to collect six points, but managed to secure two points from two draws, a fighting effort away from home.
