
Creck Sporting will go into the FDH Bank Cup quarterfinal clash against Mighty Wanderers this Sunday marking the club’s first-ever appearance at this stage of the competition.
The match will take place at Aubrey Dimba Stadium in Mchinji.
The fixture comes barely days after Creck Sporting recorded first league victory in the Southern Region, defeating Mighty Tigers 2-1.
To reach the quarterfinals, Creck Sporting eliminated Dedza Dynamos with a 1-0 win in the Round of 32, courtesy of a Patrick Mupanzi strike in the 4th minute, before edging Moyale Barracks 2-1 in the Round of 16.
Our opponents, Mighty Wanderers, advanced after beating Mafco 3-1 in the Round of 32 and Mzuzu City Hammers 2-1 in the Round of 16.
A highly contested encounter is expected, with Creck Sporting aiming to reach the semifinals for the first time in the club’s history since earning promotion to the top flight.
Head coach Eliya Kananji, who guided Blue Eagles to the FDH Bank Cup title last year, has emphasized the importance of discipline and consistency among his troops. He also called on fans for the full support ahead of Sunday’s showdown.
“Being the defending champion gives me confidence that we can approach this game with belief and purpose,We have what it takes to progress to the semifinals.”said Kananji.
Should Creck Sporting advance, they will face the winner between FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and Kamuzu Barracks in the semifinals.

Babangida Ishaya, Hadji Wali, Miracle Gabeya, Anold Son Kiyama, and Andrew Bisika have been included in the squad for Sunday’s challenge, as well as the upcoming fixture against Silver Strikers on Tuesday.
