We kicked off the month of August with a return to competitive action in the FDH Bank Cup against Dedza Dynamos at Dedza Stadium.

Coming from a two-week break in league football, the boys made their mark early a fourth-minute strike from Patrick Mupanzi was all we needed to book our slot in the Round of 16.

This was also Eliya Kananji’s first cup match in charge since taking over as head coach in June. Kananji is no stranger to cup glory, having lifted the FDH Bank Cup with Blue Eagles last year after edging FCB Nyasa Big Bullets 5-4 on penalties.

Back in the TNM Super League, we kicked off the second round against Civil Service United at Aubrey Dimba Stadium. The mission was to collect maximum points and avenge the 2-0 first-round defeat.

However, the encounter ended in a goalless stalemate, meaning we walked away with a point in both of our two meetings this season.

Our next assignment took us south to face Mighty Wanderers on 27th August. Initially scheduled for Kamuzu Stadium, the match was later shifted to Balaka Stadium. For the third time this season against the Nomads, the game ended goalless.

Creck came close in added time when the boys missed clear chances , denying us all three points at end.

Across the two league fixtures, Creck collected two points from a possible six, something Coach Kananji attributed to a lack of composure and confidence up front. He, however, praised the defense for its solidity and strong communication.

Looking ahead, the focus is now on sharpening the attack, with new signings Ramadhan Ntafu (two-year deal) and Patrick Macheso (on loan from Silver Strikers until the end of the season) expected to boost firepower.

As we regroup during the international break, attention shifts to our next challenge a home tie against Blue Eagles next week.
