Creck Sporting have wrapped up a productive 6-day pre-season camping in Salima with a 1β0 victory over Likumbo FC in our final friendly match, thanks to a quick strike from Ramadan Ntafu just a minute after kickoff.
Throughout the camp, the Crecks underwent high-intensity training sessions, including sand-based workouts and tactical pitch drills aimed at building strength, endurance, and coordination across all departments. The program was designed to maximize fitness and inject energy ahead of the new season.
Head Coach Eliya Kananji described the camp as a crucial step in strengthening team chemistry, discipline, and overall togetherness as the squad continues shaping up for the 2026/27 FDH Premiership season.
During the camp, Creck Sporting played three friendly matches: β’ π ADRA FC β Victory secured through goals from Clever Chikwata and Ramadan Ntafu. The coach emphasized the need to improve finishing despite the win. β’ π Mafco FC β A tough 3β1 defeat in a physical encounter, which Kananji termed a valuable βwake-up callβ to adapt against high-intensity, army-based sides. β’ π Likumbo FC β A strong response and improved performance, with Ntafuβs early goal sealing the win in a competitive final test.
Coach Kananji noted clear progress in team structure and performance, stating that the squad is close to full readiness ahead of the league kickoff, with only minor adjustments remaining before 25 April.
βThere is now a shape of what weβve been building. This camp has helped us address key areas, and we are close to our main target,β he said.
Creck Sporting arrived in Salima on Monday evening and returned to Lilongwe on Sunday night, concluding preparations in salima for the upcoming season opener against Red Lions on 25 April 2026 in Balaka.
Injury Update: Donnex Mwakasinga remains sidelined after suffering a crossed fracture to his right leg during the Central Region Elite Teams Bonanza against Kamuzu Barracks. He is expected to be out for 10 weeks.
The camp is now complete, and Creck Sporting shift focus fully to the new season ahead.
