Eliya Kananji, head coach of Creck SportingClub, expressed satisfaction with his squad’s performance in a friendly match against Mighty Wanderers at Aubrey Dimba, despite a 1-0 defeat on Sunday afternoon.
Kananji highlighted the team’s positive display and strong tactical discipline, which he has been emphasizing since taking charge.
The decisive moment came when Babangida Ishaya had a goal disallowed just before halftime.
Hassan Hussein’s powerful shot was fumbled by goalkeeper Dalitso Khungwa, and Ishaya followed up, but the flag went up for offside.
Kananji utilized a 3-5-2 formation, with notable players including Miracle Gabeya, Kondwani Chilembwe, Isaac Msiska, Chris Lwemba, Misheck Bottoman, and Jackson Beza. Goalkeeper Emmance Nyirenda also made an appearance from the bench.
“This was a good test,” remarked the gaffer. “I’ve taken the positives from this game, and I know where to start. Yes, it’s about scoring goals, but the boys really gave me the tip. A lot of positiveness.”
The team regrouped on Tuesday morning ahead of Blantyre Trip to Face newly promoted Ekhaya FC on Saturday afternoon at Kamuzu stadium.
