Creck Sporting Reserves head coach Lazarus Chirwa says he has invested a lot of energy in preparing his boys for Sunday’s crucial clash against Chimbiya Stars in the CRFA National Bank Championship.

The encounter marks the third meeting between the two sides this season and promises to be a tense showdown at Lilongwe Community Ground.

Chirwa admitted that poor attitude and a negative team atmosphere contributed to Creck Reserves’ 2–1 defeat to Chimbiya Stars in the TVM Division One League earlier this season at the same venue.

“Attitude cost us. Some players undermined the opponent, and that affected our performance. This time, we’ve prepared well with a clear focus on winning this knockout match and progressing,” said Chirwa.

He further noted that his side conceded two avoidable goals and emphasized that the technical panel has since urged players to approach the game with discipline, intelligence, and maturity, which he believes will be key to advancing.

The CRFA National Bank Championship brings together 16 teams drawn from district leagues and the CRFA TVM Division One League.

Teams will battle through the regional playoffs, with only one side earning the right to represent the Central Region at national level.
