Head coach Eliya Kananji believes it is time for Creck Sporting to revenge against Civil Service United as the two sides clash in a TNM Super League second-round fixture this Saturday afternoon at Aubrey Dimba Stadium.
Creck Sporting suffered a 2-0 defeat during the first round at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe
“It will be a challenge, but we are ready. It’s time to revenge as Creck and fight for maximum points,” said Kananji.
Kananji admitted that despite the mixed performances, his players are now beginning to fully embrace his philosophy.
“We didn’t finish well in Karonga where we only managed a point from two games, but it’s now time to show our positivity and character.”
The coach further revealed that special focus has been placed on set-pieces in training to sharpen the team’s scoring opportunities.
“We have worked on set-pieces to ensure we convert more chances inside the box. We’ve also reflected on our good performance against Dedza Dynamos in the FDH Bank Cup, and we want to carry that into this game.”
Despite missing Bayo Fatayo and Miracle Gabeya, who impressed in the cup tie, Kananji expressed confidence in the depth of his squad.
“That’s true, but we have enough troops to step in and deliver. It shows we have options in defense and can still fight for the maximum points.”
Kananji acknowledged Civil Service United will equally be determined, but remains optimistic his side can rise to the occasion.
“They will come hard at us for the same three points, but we are prepared and ready to make it difficult for them.”
