Head coach Eliya Kananji has applauded his players for spirited performance in Creck Sporting’s 1-0 win over Dedza Dynamos, describing it as a positive start to FDH Bank Cup campaign.

Speaking during the post-match press conference at Dedza Stadium, Kananji praised his charges for sticking to the game plan.

“They really complied with the instructions. Our aim was to score an early goal, and we nailed it. Early goals are very important to disorganize the opponent. It’s good we are into the next round,” said Kananji.

The coach was forced into four substitutions after injuries to Hardy Ng’andu, Jackson Beza, George Chaomba, and goalkeeper Brighton Munthali.

They were replaced by Talandira Chigaula, Harvey Nasiyaya, Gift Kadawati, and Emmance Nyirenda.
Kananji commended the substitutes for rising to the occasion.

“I salute the boys. We couldn’t do otherwise, but they managed to adapt to the tempo and flow of the game. Let me also salute Emmance Nyirenda he has been outstanding. Despite carrying a knock from training, he still did a great job, saving dangerous situations,” he added.

Looking ahead, the gaffer emphasized the need to sharpen attacking play inside the box in order to score more goals in upcoming fixtures.

Creck Sporting now shifts focus to league action as we face Civil Service United in a TNM Super League second-round clash on Saturday afternoon at Aubrey Dimba Stadium.
