Creck Sporting will make history this Sunday as we face Northern Region side face Chitipa United in what will be the first-ever encounter between the two sides at Chitipa Stadium.

This fixture marks our 14th league match of the season, having collected 17 points from 13 games, currently placing us 8th on the log table.

Notably, this is Chitipa United’s first time hosting a match at their home ground this season after receiving clearance from the Super League of Malawi.

Head Coach Eliya Kananji is targeting a historic victory at the newly opened venue and has named a 20-man squad he believes can deliver maximum points.

Our opponents, Chitipa United, are coming off a goalless draw against Karonga United last weekend.Looking back at last season, the two sides shared four points from two meetings both ending in 1-1 draws.

Gift Kadawati was on target for us in the away fixture in Karonga, while in the return leg at Aubrey Dimba Stadium, Harvey Nasiyaya opened the scoring before Jackson Beza, now one of our own, equalized for Chitipa.

Coach Kananji has confirmed a clean bill of health in the squad, with no injury concerns ahead of the trip. Midfielder Frank Phiri returns to the squad after missing last week’s game due to injury.

Also making a return is attacker Tathedwa Willard, who last featured against Songwe Border United, following an impressive showing in training.
