Creck Sporting Football Club officially unveiled Eliya Kananji on Saturday as its new Head Coach, ushering in a fresh era for the club following the departure of Joseph Kamwendo.
The unveiling ceremony marked the beginning of a new chapter for Kananji, one of Malawi’s most seasoned and successful tactician.
Kananji joins Creck Sporting on a two-year deal effective June 1, 2025, with his contract running through to 2027.
He brings a wealth of top-flight experience to the club, having previously managed TNM Super League giants including FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, Mighty Wanderers, and Civil Service United.
Most recently, he guided his former team to a memorable triumph in the 2024 FDH Cup.
Speaking at his unveiling, Kananji emphasized the need for collective effort and harmony across all levels of the club.
“For the team to perform at its best, there must be unity among the players, the technical panel, and the executive. I am excited to be here and ready to get started,” he said.
The new boss is expected to lead his first training session on Tuesday morning as preparations begin for the next phase of the campaign.
He will start his job by welcoming Captain Hadji Wali and Peter Godfrey who were nursing injuries.
