Creck Sporting will go into the midweek TNM Super League clash against Mighty Tigers at Kamuzu Stadium with high hopes of securing a historic first league victory in Blantyre.

This marks the fourth meeting between the two sides since Creck’s promotion to the top-flight league.

The match will be Creck’s 20th league appearance this season and fifth match of the second round, in which we remain unbeaten. So far, the team has collected four points from a possible twelve, drawing all four of our second-round matches.

Head coach Eliya Kananji and his charges are confident of turning things around with a win that would not only break our southern region winless record, but also push us up the league table.

“We are ready. The boys have shown great character in training, and we believe we can get the job done,” said Kananji ahead of the match.

Head-to-Head Record

In our four league encounters to date, Creck Sporting has won twice and lost once. We’ve scored four goals and conceded two.

Our first league win against the Tigers came last season in a 3-1 victory at Civo Stadium. That was followed by a 1-0 defeat in Blantyre. Earlier this season, Babangida Ishaya scored the only goal at Champions Stadium in Mponela, giving Creck second win in this fixture against Tigers.

League Standings
Creck Sporting: 11th place | 22 points from 19 matches
Mighty Tigers: 14th place | 17 points from 19 matches

Tigers are coming off a 2-2 draw against Moyale Barracks in Mzuzu, while Creck aim to capitalize on our momentum and seal the first three points of the second round.

Team News
Coach Kananji has named a fully fit 20-man squad for the match. Notably, forward Kondwani Chilembwe has been recalled to the squad after recovering from injury, having missed the last two matches. His return adds depth to Creck’s attacking options.

Everyone is ready. We’ve prepared well and the boys understand the importance of this match,”Kananji added.
