Creck Sporting played a goalless draw against Mighty Wanderers in a high-intensity clash at Balaka Stadium on Wednesday afternoon, earning a valuable point.

With this result, Creck Sporting climbed from 10th to 9th place in the league standings, now holding 20 points from 17 games. This draw follows a similar stalemate against Civil Service United last week.

Coach Eliya Kananji made three changes to the starting XI from last week’s lineup, bringing in Anold Son Kiyama, Misheck Bottoman, and Hadji Wali. In midfield, Wali partnered with Frank Phiri and Bottoman to control the engine room.

The first half started at a slow pace, with both teams cautiously pressing to break the opponent’s defense.

Creck Sporting settled early, and just minutes before halftime, Anold Son Kiyama tested goalkeeper Dalitso Khungwa from long range, but the keeper was alert to the shot. The referee, Ernest Kapazi, frequently stopped play, as the first half became increasingly physical.

The second half saw Wanderers increase their intensity, pressing for an early lead and registering two dangerous shots and two corners.

Creck Sporting responded as Wali and Phiri dropped deep to support defense and win aerial battles. Son Kiyama’s free-kick went narrowly wide, while Hardy Ng’andu came close to scoring from a well-taken corner by Frank Phiri.

Wanderers had a near miss as Emmance Nyirenda was beaten, but Talandira Chigaula and Hardy Ng’andu intervened to clear the danger. Patrick Mupanzi’s efforts went over the bar twice.

The introduction of Patrick Macheso, George Chaomba, and Harvey Nasiyaya added fresh set up, helping Creck Sporting transition more effectively into attack.

In the third minute of added time, Patrick Macheso had a clear chance but failed to find the net, as the Nomads’ goalkeeper was already far from from the D-zone

The game ended in a 0-0 draw, with Creck Sporting collecting a point at Balaka Stadium
