Substitute Kondwani Chilembwe’s strike on 61st minute was what we needed to collect maximum points over Mzuzu City Hammers on Sunday afternoon.
This is Chilembwe’s second goal of the season. He scored past FCB Nyasa Big Bullets in Blantyre in our 4-1 defeat in April this year.
Just fifteen minutes after being introduced he completed nine touches in the opponent’s half which he transitionally nutmeg hammers defender and shot with his left footed leg to break the deadlock.
Coach Eliya Kananji made three changes at the half time, deploying Kondwani Chilembwe, Misheck Bottoman and Bayo Fatayo in regard to attacking abilities and calming the midfield battle which was not ticking.
Kananji who was not impressed with the attacking department, rested Jackson Beza and Gift Kadawati. He introduced George and Hassan Hussein to push for a second goal.
During the post match interview Kananji highlighted on the much needed points, describing the performance as good with minor areas to work on before wrapping up the season.
The team has moved from position Ten to eight with Seventeen points collected.
Crecks will have to travel to the Northern Region as we have two games left, against Karonga United and Chitipa United before the first round ends.
