
Creck Sporting Ladies have finished as runners-up in the 2025/26 Central Region FAM Women’s League after a commanding 10–1 victory over Dedza Super Queens on the final day of the season at Kasungu Stadium on Sunday.
Despite the emphatic win, Creck fell just short of the title after Fact Ladies scored a dramatic late goal against Hungry Lions to secure the championship.
Creck striker Alinafe Nyirenda delivered a remarkable performance in the final match, scoring eight goals to finish as the league’s top scorer with 27 goals. She surpassed Blue Eagles’ Jestina Bwanausi, who ended the campaign with 24 goals.
At the end of the season, Creck Sporting Ladies accumulated 36 points, just one point behind champions Fact Ladies, who finished with 37 points.
Out of 14 league matches, Creck recorded 12 wins,2 losses,59 goals scored,9 goals conceded.Other key contributors included Memory Malenga, who finished the season with 11 goals, and Emily Banda, who added 10 goals.
Creck Sporting Ladies Head Coach Chisomo Nkhoma praised her players for their fighting spirit and impressive performance despite narrowly missing out on the title.
“The girls showed great determination today. Unfortunately, we missed the opportunity of being crowned champions after losing 2–1 to Fact Ladies earlier in the season. However, we will come back stronger next season,” said Nkhoma.
Creck Sporting Ladies ended the season with one of the most impressive attacking records in the league and will now look to build on strong campaign as we aim for the championship next season.
