After a two-week break from the TNM Super League, Creck Sporting return to action this weekend with an FDH Bank Cup Round of 32 tie against Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos at Dedza Stadium.

This year marks our second appearance in the FDH Bank Cup since our promotion from the lower league just a year ago.

We meet Dedza Dynamos for the third time this season having lost 4–1 in our opening league fixture in Mponela, and 3–2 in a friendly match.

Last season, we advanced to the Round of 16 after beating Fomo FC 3–1 on post-match penalties at Civo Stadium. The game ended 2–2 in regulation time, with Frank Phiri netting a brace. Phiri, Jauma Edward, and Anold Son Kiyama converted their penalties, while goalkeeper Emmance Nyirenda saved two spot-kicks.

Our journey ended in the Round of 16 after a narrow 1–0 defeat to Baka City. Our opponents head into this fixture after a 3–1 TNM Super League loss to Moyale Barracks.

Head Coach Eliya Kananji, who lifted the championship with Blue Eagles last year, is determined to make history by guiding Creck Sporting to a cup final for the first time.

Earlier this season, we exited the Airtel Top 8 at the quarter-final stage going down 1–0 to FCB Nyasa Big Bullets in the second leg after a goalless first-leg draw in Blantyre.

Despite picking just one point from a possible six in our last league trip to the Northern Region against Chitipa United and Karonga United, Coach Kananji remains confident in the squad’s potential.
