Creck Sporting Club’s Head Coach Eliya Kananji reflects in the month of June that, despite a couple of away stumbles, saw his team continue its upward trajectory, marking significant progress as the project looks increasingly promising.
“I’m happy for the team. We’ve gone from strength to strength in our performance, but there are two areas we need to work on to keep this momentum,” stated Kananji
After a winning streak in May, the team collected seven points from a possible nine across three key matches, signifying a remarkable 96 percent improvement from previous outings.
This impressive haul came from encounters against Kamuzu Barracks, Songwe Border United, and Mafco FC.
However, the month wasn’t without its challenges. We faced tough away assignments against Ekhaya FC and Civil Service United, unfortunately dropping points in both fixtures. We redeemed ourselves at home, securing maximum points against Moyale Barracks.
Kananji’s tactical adjustments, honed from analyzing previous results against Moyale, paid dividends, with Frank Phiri’s seventh-minute strike enough to secure a crucial victory and propel us from eleventh to eighth on the league standings.
Kananji views these June encounters as invaluable lessons, crucial for the team’s continued development. With the first round of the TNM Super League nearing its conclusion, we now faces three remaining fixtures.
Following our match against Silver on July 2nd, the team prepares for two challenging away trips to Karonga United and Chitipa United, before wrapping up the first half of the season by hosting Mzuzu City Hammers at home.
The focus remains on applying the lessons learned to maintain our promising trajectory.
