For the third time this season, Creck’s United skipper Hardy Ng’andu has been named Player of the Match, continuing to prove his consistency, leadership, and reliability at the heart of the team’s defense.
Ng’andu previously claimed the accolade in goalless draws against Blue Eagles and narrow 1-0 win over Mighty Tigers. Ng’andu once again was a standout performer when CRECK Sporting Club played a goalless draw against Kamuzu barracks fc, leading by example with another composed performance.
With five appearances so far this season, Ng’andu has been a rock in our backline, playing a crucial role in stabilizing the team’s performances despite their mixed form. He missed the recent fixture against Mighty Wanderers due to an ankle injury but has since returned to full fitness.
Speaking after receiving the award, Ng’andu reflected on what it means to earn individual recognition at a time when the team is struggling for consistency.
“What I want most is to keep the spirit high and maintain a positive image for our team,” he said. “We are not performing as well as we should, but we’ll keep pushing to bring back the winning momentum.”
The captain emphasized the importance of morale and unity, adding:
“It’s not easy, but once the confidence of every single player is back, we will all enjoy the game more and results will follow.”
Looking ahead, Ng’andu also shared his ambitions beyond club football:
“There’s the COSAFA Cup coming up, and it’s my dream to play for the national team one day.”
Creck’s United returned to training on Thursday morning as we prepare for their next match against Songwe Border United, scheduled to take place at Aubrey Dimba Stadium in Mchinji.
