Interim head coach Harry Saidi is confident that his side will secure maximum points in our midweek fixture against Kamuzu Barracks, set for the Aubrey Dimba Stadium in Mchinji.
Creck Sporting Club are coming off a narrow 0-1 defeat their fourth loss in the TNM Super League this season following Sunday’s fixture.
Wednesday’s encounter marks the fourth meeting between the two sides. Last season, we shared the spoils in both encounters, collecting two points from two draws.
In the first leg, we led at halftime through goals from Frank Phiri and Arnold “Son” Kiyama before Kamuzu Barracks leveled the score with goals from Zeliat Nkhoma and Hope Namadzunda. The return fixture ended in a goalless stalemate.
Kamuzu Barracks head into this game on the back of a narrow win over newly promoted Ekhaya FC, courtesy of a goal from Zeliat Nkhoma.
Speaking during a pre-match press conference, Coach Saidi acknowledged the team’s struggles in front of goal and stressed the need to improve finishing.
“Finishing has been a challenge. At times, we’ve dominated games, but I strongly believe this is the one area we still need to improve,” said Saidi.
“I’ve seen some positives among the boys. With such an attitude and determination, we’ll keep pushing. At the end of the day, we want a win.”
Saidi was appointed interim head coach following the suspension of head coach Joseph Kamwendo, assistant coach Abel Mkandawire, and striker trainer Chiukepo Msowoya due to the team’s recent poor form.
